Walker Creek Science Camp a Big Success! I want to thank our 6th grade teachers Kris Weir and Dominick DeNardo for their dedication and hard work to give our students an enriching and unforgettable experience at Walker Creek! They gave students new opportunities to shine in outdoor educational activities and return with renewed energy and excitement for learning. Bravo!

Cooperation and Pajama Day Wednesday!

Melinda Coates will lead our 4th Character Education Assembly and Spirit Day on December 6th. Students will focus on being Cooperative for the month of December. Our spirit day is: Pajama Day!

Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS): Patwin teachers and staff have set the first school wide goal! For the month of December, students can earn purple tickets for Showing Respect, Solving Problems, and Making Good Decisions. When they receive a ticket, they will contribute it to our ticket collection bin. Students have a collective goal to reach the first line in the clear bin. On December 22nd we will have a schoolwide celebration at dismissal time. Cookies and Coco will be offered in the quad. Choices to fit all dietary needs will be available.

Ongoing Staff Development: Last week, Teachers and Administrators participated in our 4th Universal Design for Learning (UDL) session! I am impressed with the knowledge and experience our staff brings to their classrooms everyday.  I see the many ways our teachers offer choices and access points for all. Students are excited to learn and be a part of these dynamic classrooms.

Public Outreach for Revised Site Layout for ECE Requisite Facilities at Patwin Elementary School.

On October 4, 2023, DJUSD presented a placement proposal for Early Childhood Education (ECE) requisite facilities at Patwin Elementary. Public feedback was instrumental in revising our original location proposal and we are inviting you to join us for another public outreach opportunity to discuss the revised site plans for ECE facility construction at your neighborhood school.

Please join the DJUSD Bond Team on Tuesday, December 5, for two meeting opportunities to hear about the revisions and to share your feedback  about this project. Families, staff, neighbors and friends are all invited.
